This year, first time in living memory we think, royalty will be upon us. Which is very exciting, although a bit of a pain because of the road closures.
Here is the announcement from LASA about the road closures due to the re-internment of Richard III:
KING RICHARD III CORTEGE SUNDAY MARCH 22ND
As many of you will know this Procession takes place on Sunday March 22nd, when we have Sessions 9 & 10 of the Age Groups at the Braunstone Pool.
The Procession involves rolling road closures from near Fenny Drayton, starting at 1pm ,passing through Dadlington, Bosworth Battlefield,(2.15pm) Market Bosworth,(3.40pm) Newbold Verdon, Desford (4.10)and then along the A47. It should pass the Braunstone Pool between 4.15pm and 4.30pm on its way into Leicester to the Cathedral. Remember side Roads may also be closed.
Anyone living in the areas around these road closures should ensure they are clear to get to the Pool for the warm up at 3.25 for Session 10. Session 9 will finish around 3pm, so think about getting home to those areas as well.
One thing for sure, we will have a great view as the procession passes the Pool.
