From the 200IM on Friday night, right through to the 50m free on Sunday evening, our swimmers battled it out with swimmers in their age group, but more importantly, with the clock. Ah yes, the qualifying window for the Midlands regional championships and the Nationals is still open and the Sharks were out to get qualifying times.
With the recent change in rules that specifies that a swimmer's age group is as of the 31st December, many of our sharks were swimming up an age group. And that made it TOUGH to get times. Some of our swimmers managed it - with big grins as they saw their time at the end of the race - others missed times by a whisker. But there's always next year, so onwards, upwards and keep training hard...
And in between the racing against the clock, there were PBs all over the show and a sprinkling of medals.
A huge well done to all swimmers! (And their loyal parents who had to endure a marathon meet.)
