Ben achieved qualifying times for the 200 free and the 50 breast, posting respectable times in both.
But, for Ben, it wasn't really about the times, it was about the (incredible) experience.
The previous week had seen the great and the good of Europe swim ferociously as they prepare for Rio, and they'd left the pool nice and warm for Ben.
Here's what Ben said about the experience:
Highlight of the day was first walking into the arena and taking in the scale of the place.
I just couldn’t stop smiling thinking that I am actually swimming in the same arena as some of the greatest swimmers of all time such as Phelps, Missy Franklin and only last week at the Elite swimmers meet with Adam Peaty, James Guy, Fran Halsall etc.
Also that it was fully set up with all the hi-tech equipment and decoration which we all saw on TV last week.
Another highlight was hearing the crowd roar for the oldest man in the competition, who at 87 years old, did an incredible 1.05 for 50m Breast.
Then a German competitor aged 80 swam the 50 Breast in 44.88 seconds, and a man at 79 years old hit 40.98!
All extremely humbling to see these guys who mostly had to be helped up on to the blocks- but then swam like someone 40 years younger.
I’ve been around swimming for 35 years, and never had the privilege of attending an event like this, and probably never will again- so I just tried to soak it all up and enjoy the amazing experience
Ben, you are awesome, you've done the club proud!
